After high-risk behaviors, the high fever persisted, and the young man was infected with AIDS. He said frankly: living is more uncomfortable than dying

01 Infected with pneumonia for no reason and admitted to ICU

The days and nights in the ICU were lonely and long, and the strangeness of the condition added a touch of fear.

After several days of high fever, Zhang Jianqiang endured the pain brought by his body and came to the hospital panting heavily. He described his condition to the doctor with difficulty: "Even if you only walk a few steps, it is like running thousands of miles." Like rice, almost passed out."

Subsequent imaging examination results showed that Zhang Jian suffered from Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia and needed to be admitted to the intensive care unit immediately.

Why do you get pneumonia? Zhang Jian felt uneasy. After informing the family, my mother rushed from the countryside to Guangzhou overnight. During the half-hour visit time every day, the mother and son could not talk much, and the only thing that could be comforted later was the doctor's words, "Don't worry, we will do our best to treat them."

A week later, Zhang Jian re-examined the CT scan, and the lungs in the film were still ground-glass shadows, and his condition showed no signs of improvement. The doctor decided to draw blood to screen for the cause of the disease. After drawing more than a dozen tubes of blood, Zhang Jian received a blood report from his attending doctor the next day that changed his fate. It said "HIV to be reexamined" impressively.

02 A bare-bones sex leads to an infection

Zhang Jian himself is not surprised by the result of HIV infection, and another identity that has been carefully hidden all these years is about to be revealed. Zhang Jian revealed to the doctor that it was most likely caused by a bare-bones sex not long ago.

It was 2011, and the public didn't know much about HIV. At the moment when he was diagnosed, Zhang Jianmeng's legs softened and he knelt down in front of his mother, sobbing and saying, "Mom, the doctor said I have AIDS. I'm alive." Not a few years."

The mother knelt down and hugged Zhang Jian, crying and saying that she must not give up the treatment.

After being discharged from the hospital, Zhang Jian has been surrounded by stigma, and he feels that he is a "dirty thing". Searching for HIV on the Internet, the photos that pop up are even more horrific. The skinny skin exudes desolation, and the lingering rash reminds Zhang Jian that he is "different from ordinary people". He became more and more inferior, afraid to eat with other people, for fear of infection, and wiped the items he touched countless times with alcohol, let alone going out for activities.

"At that time, living was more uncomfortable than dying." Zhang Jian said that he thought about ending his life countless times late at night, but when he thought of his old parents, he couldn't help himself.

03 China's HIV report exceeds one million existing HIV infections

It has been 11 years since Zhang Jian was discovered. After living through that gloomy life, Zhang Jian's life gradually returned to a normal track under regular treatment. He opened an online store and volunteered in his spare time, telling his stories to more patients and helping them overcome their psychological difficulties.

December 1st is World AIDS Day. Director Huang Zhanlian said that the number of existing HIV infections in China has exceeded one million, and the prevention and control of AIDS patients/infected people in China is still not optimistic.
