After high-risk behavior, don't treat AIDS as a skin disease! 3 abnormalities in the skin, or the body is calling for help

After Zeng Ding (pseudonym) graduated from high school, he went out to work with his second uncle. At the time of his weak crown, he was full of energy and couldn't bear the loneliness, so he met a few older sisters on the Internet and often dated them.

But last month, he suddenly discovered that an unknown abscess had grown on his body . He didn't pay attention to it at first, but just bought some anti-inflammatory ointment and applied it on his body. However, the effect was not obvious, and the abscess continued to spread.

Zeng Ding was worried about allergies, so he went to the local hospital to see a dermatologist. It cost nearly 2,000 yuan for a checkup, but there was no definite diagnosis.

In the end, the doctor felt that something was wrong, and found that Zeng Ding not only had abscesses on his skin, but also had recurrent fevers and colds , so he suggested that he do relevant blood tests.

Sure enough, the blood test results showed that his HIV test was positive, and Zeng Ding was diagnosed with AIDS!

1. AIDS status: About 1/3 of HIV-infected people in the world are teenagers

AIDS is an infectious virus that humans are still unable to overcome. According to "Prospective Study: Spatial Analysis of AIDS in Out-of-school Adolescents Aged 15-24 (2010-2020)", there are 4,000 new HIV infections every day in the world, including About 31% are teenagers aged 15-24 .

The onset of AIDS is mainly caused by the infection of the human immune system by HIV. The virus can cause damage or defect of immune cells in the human body, which can lead to various serious complications, opportunistic infections and tumors.

According to Wu Zunyou, member of the UNAIDS expert committee and chief epidemiologist of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, from 2011 to 2015, the proportion of young students infected with AIDS increased at an average annual rate of 35%.

Although the increase has slowed down in recent years, there are still more than 3,000 new cases reported by students every year, and the spread of AIDS among adolescents has not been effectively controlled.

According to Wu Zunyou's analysis, the difficulty of controlling AIDS among young people is related to the following points.

First, in the overall social environment, the number of HIV-infected people is still increasing. The larger the patient base, the more infected groups and more sources of infection;

Second, with the development of society, adolescents' sexual concepts are more open , and the number of sexual partners also increases, and the occurrence of sexual behavior increases the possibility of transmission;

The third is whether it is homosexual or heterosexual, older people tend to seek out younger people, and older people have more sexual behaviors, which leads to a high infection rate, and the transmission from older to younger ages can easily lead to an increase in the infection rate of young people.

2. If there are 3 signs on the skin, don’t treat it as a skin disease

AIDS can attack the human body step by step in a short period of time. The Morgane Bomsel research team at the University of Paris Fifth recorded this process with video for the first time——

During sexual transmission, the urethral mucosa is the first barrier and the initial site of pathogen infection. After the virus enters the human body, the infected cells come into contact with epithelial cells, further eroding the human body.

At this stage, about 80% of the infected people will show symptoms such as sore throat, night sweats, diarrhea, rash, etc. , but because these symptoms are not unique to AIDS, they are not easy to be noticed, and most patients with mild symptoms will disappear after 1-3 weeks. Self-relief.

Subsequently, some viruses undergo transcellular mutations, directly penetrate epithelial cells, and are captured by macrophages. However, there are also "tenacious elements" among them that have successfully survived and formed a virus storage pool. At this time, the virus is no longer active, but only lurking in the macrophages.

HIV is very good at "hiding", so when the skin has the following abnormalities, you need to be alert to the possibility of AIDS:

1. Skin prurigo

Most AIDS patients will have prurigo in the early stage, red pimples will appear continuously on the skin, accompanied by itching, the epidermis will fall off after scratching, and the redness will deepen .

2. Skin itching and dryness

Dry skin and itching are also common symptoms of AIDS patients, usually erythema xerosum , which then evolves into dry eczema.

3. Skin ulceration

If AIDS patients have infectious skin diseases, they will also have skin ulcers. This is because the virus infection leads to low immunity, which causes large areas of herpes zoster to appear on the skin of the body .

3. Why is AIDS difficult to cure?

Once HIV enters the human body, it can replicate in a large area, and a small part hides in special cells, waiting for the opportunity. Once the patient stops the drug or does not implement the treatment plan well, the virus will be easily activated , and the virus will rebound and attack .

The current treatment for AIDS is antiretroviral therapy, which uses drugs to suppress HIV replication as much as possible. However, this method still cannot completely remove all HIV viruses in the body, and it can only be regarded as a temporary solution.

There is no cure for AIDS. In fact, prevention is more important than treatment.

Once the following four behaviors occur in life, it can be judged as a high-risk behavior , and the risk of HIV infection is higher:

  • Having unprotected (not using a condom) heterosexual or gay sex;
  • Sharing syringes for intravenous drug use;
  • Babies born to HIV-positive mothers;
  • Blood transfusions, unsafe injections, tattooing or ear piercing with laxly sterilized instruments, tooth extraction in irregular places, etc.

Xiao Jiu reminds everyone that once high-risk behavior occurs, relevant measures should be taken immediately. After exposure, seek isolation services as soon as possible at the nearest hospital clinic that provides pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis.

After assessing the risk of exposure, if blocking is required, antiviral drugs should be taken within 2 hours, and it is best not to exceed 72 hours. It is recommended to use a triple antiviral drug regimen for 28 consecutive days.

Equality is the eternal theme of AIDS prevention and control work. Only when the society is stable, different groups are equal and respect each other can AIDS prevention and control work be carried out better and faster.

Each of us should start from me, establish the concept of equality, clearly oppose discrimination, and give help and care to those infected with the virus, so that they dare to treat, face up to, understand correctly, and love themselves cleanly.
