The high temperature continues to appear, how many degrees can heat people to death? Do 4 points to help 'cool down'

In the hot summer, when the temperature soars, we often hear jokes about "hot to death", but in fact, cases of people being "hot to death" are not uncommon:

  • A 49-year-old workshop worker in Lishui, Zhejiang Province, suddenly fell to the ground during work, and was in shock when he was rushed to the hospital. After rescue, he was unable to save his life in the end;
  • In Zhengzhou, Henan, a man was rushed to the ICU due to heatstroke. When he was admitted to the hospital, his core body temperature was as high as 42.3 degrees, and he was diagnosed with heat stroke;
  • In Huizhou, Guangdong, a man spent more than 3 hours outdoors, but fell to the ground due to heat stroke, and finally died after the rescue failed.

There are many similar cases, and many people can't help but wonder, how hot can it be to induce heat stroke?

1. Heat stroke: damage to organs is like "boiled"

In high temperature weather, it is the high incidence period of heat stroke, so what is heat stroke? Simply put, it is severe heat stroke .

Mainly due to prolonged exposure to high temperature environment, resulting in problems with the body's regulatory function, heat production exceeds heat dissipation, resulting in a disease that causes the core temperature to be too high (usually over 40°C). This disease has a high fatality rate and requires prompt diagnosis and treatment.

So why does heat stroke occur?

In this regard, the team of Professor Lv Ben from the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University published a research paper online in "Science", revealing the important lethal mechanism of heat stroke:

" It is a physical injury process, which produces cytotoxic effects due to high heat. When the body temperature reaches a high level, it can bring irreversible damage to cells , which in turn causes inflammation, thrombosis, secondary systemic multiple organ failure, and ultimately endangers the life ".

Although it can quickly cool the patient for the first time, it cannot stop its course. Therefore, the focus on prevention of heat stroke, especially these two types of high-risk groups, should be alerted:

Labor-type heat stroke : that is, workers in outdoor high-temperature environments, including firefighters, construction workers, sanitation workers, traffic police, etc.;

Non-exertional heat stroke : frail elderly, children, pregnant women.

2. How many degrees will people be heated to death?

High temperature may cause people to die from heat, so how many degrees does it need to be? We all know that the most direct harm caused by high temperature is heatstroke.

Under normal circumstances, our human body has its own heat production and heat dissipation mechanism, and the body can absorb heat from its own metabolism and the environment.

Once the body temperature is too high, the body will dissipate heat through vasodilation, sweating, etc., so as to ensure that the body temperature remains in a relatively stable state, that is, around 37°C.

However, high temperature can cause imbalance of the body's regulatory function and cause heat stroke, and heat stroke can also be divided into mild and severe according to the severity.

Generally speaking, patients with mild symptoms often have symptoms such as elevated body temperature (over 38°C), excessive sweating, thirst, dizziness, and limb weakness.

Severely ill patients are also known as heat stroke, and their body temperature is usually over 40°C . In addition to mild heat stroke symptoms, they may also have symptoms such as shallow breathing, rapid pulse, and disturbance of consciousness. Timely intervention is required, otherwise life-threatening.

When you are in a high temperature environment and your body has the following symptoms, you should seek medical attention immediately.

1. Nausea

It is often a prelude to vomiting, but it may not necessarily come out. At this time, you should be alert to heat stroke and intervene in time.

2. Headache

Be careful if you have persistent headaches after you've been outdoors.

3. Shallow and fast breathing

That is, the speed of breathing is significantly faster, exceeding 20 times a minute, and the inhalation and exhalation volume is small.

4. Muscle spasms

Also watch out for persistent uncontrolled twitching of muscles throughout your body, especially in your extremities, after activity in an outdoor environment.

3. To prevent heat stroke, it is very important to do 4 points

Heat stroke is not a trivial matter, don't take it seriously, do these 4 points well, and easily prevent heat stroke.

1. Avoid strenuous physical labor

If it is not necessary, try to avoid exercising in high temperature. If you cannot avoid it due to work requirements, you should also pay attention to the intensity, start slowly, and gradually increase the intensity to give your body a time to adapt.

When you experience palpitation, chest tightness, dizziness and other discomfort, don't force yourself to continue, you should stop all activities in time to avoid accidents!

2. Replenish water in time

Under high temperature, it is very important to replenish water in time, but do not irrigate vigorously. It is recommended to drink a small amount of water many times, and replenish 200ml of water every 15 to 20 minutes.

In addition, when replenishing water, try to avoid high-sugar and alcoholic beverages. Not only does not replenish water, but it is easy to lose more body fluids; drink too cold beverages, which can easily stimulate the stomach.

3. Pay attention to heat dissipation

After outdoor activities, if you feel that your body temperature is too high, you need to dissipate heat in time. You can use a towel to wipe your body with water, or blow a fan to cool down physically.

4. Pay attention to sunstroke prevention and sun protection

It is hot in summer. If you want to go out, you must do a good job of sun protection and heatstroke prevention, including applying sunscreen, wearing sunscreen clothes, wearing a sun umbrella, wearing sunglasses, etc. In addition, you should pay attention to replenishing water in time, and it is best to carry heatstroke prevention and cooling drugs with you. , such as cooling oil, wind oil essence, Huoxiangzhengqi water, etc.

In short, in summer, it is very hot, so don’t go out. If you want to go out, you must do a good job of sun protection and heatstroke prevention to prevent heatstroke.

This summer, in addition to the heat, many people may have discovered a phenomenon, that is, there are fewer mosquitoes. Is this related to high temperature?

According to the monitoring data of adult mosquito density (an indicator reflecting the number of mosquitoes) released by the Hangzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Zhejiang Province, the number of mosquitoes in July this year was about 30% less than that in June . Compared with the same period last year, the mosquito density also dropped by 30 %. %~40%.

The reason is really inseparable from the high temperature.

Because the most suitable temperature for mosquitoes to survive is 20 ℃ ~ 30 ℃. If it exceeds 35 degrees, the mosquito will lose its vitality ; once it exceeds 40 degrees, the mosquito may be "heated to death".

Summary: Although heatstroke often occurs, it cannot be underestimated. Once severe heatstroke occurs, it is dangerous. Finally, let me remind everyone: When going out in hot weather, be sure to pay attention to protection!
