Moxibustion on four acupoints for chronic bronchitis

Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese disease treatment method, which can activate the functions of the viscera, vigorously metabolize, generate antibodies and immunity, and adjust the physiological and biochemical functions of human body disorders, so as to achieve the purpose of disease prevention and treatment. "Introduction to Medicine" records that "if the medicine for the disease is not enough, the needle is not enough, it must be moxibustion". Moxibustion can not only treat cold, heat, deficiency and excess diseases, but also has therapeutic effects on some chronic diseases and difficult diseases, as well as health care functions. Making wormwood into moxa sticks and moxibustion on acupoints can achieve the purpose of treating diseases. Infrared radiation is the basis of moxibustion treatment.

Common moxibustion points in the treatment of chronic bronchitis

Dazhui Point

Go down the middle of the back of the neck and feel the bulging bone. There is a small depression below the bone, which is the Dazhui point. Moxibustion at Dazhui point can stimulate the body to produce antibodies, improve the body's immunity, improve the respiratory function of the lungs, and at the same time have a good relieving effect on the cough symptoms caused by chronic bronchitis.

Yongquan Cave

Yongquan acupoint is one of the commonly used acupoints of the Kidney Meridian of Foot Shaoyin. It is located on the bottom of the foot, in the depression of the front of the foot when the foot is curled, about the first 1 of the line connecting the head of the 2nd and 3rd metatarsophalangeal sutures and the heel. At the intersection of /3 and the last 2/3. Yongquan acupoint controls the kidney meridian, but it can treat lung diseases. Often moxibustion at this acupoint can prevent and treat chronic bronchitis.

Back hole

Beishu acupoints refer to the acupoints on the back where the Qi of the five zang-organs and six fu-organs is infused, including Feishu, Xinshu, Shenshu, bladder Shu and other acupoints. Moxibustion of a moxa stick on Backshu points every day, following the mechanism of yin disease and yang, can treat lung deficiency and effectively relieve chronic bronchitis.

Body pillar hole

Shenzhu acupoint is located in the depression below the spinous process of the third thoracic vertebra on the midline of the back. Stimulating Shenzhu acupoint can disperse the lungs, relieve cough, and treat respiratory diseases such as cough, asthma, whooping cough, bronchitis, pneumonia, and tuberculosis.

Method of moxibustion

There are three main methods of moxibustion: direct moxibustion, partitioned moxibustion and suspended moxibustion. Each moxibustion method has its own advantages and disadvantages.

direct moxibustion

It is the most orthodox moxibustion method for thousands of years. The moxa velvet is directly rubbed into a ball, placed on the corresponding acupuncture points and burned. There are scar moxibustion and non-scar moxibustion. During moxibustion, burning moxa at the same point repeatedly causes skin burns, bubbles and even purulence, and finally scabs form scars, which is called scar moxibustion. The effect of direct moxibustion without leaving scars is called scarless moxibustion.

Partition moxibustion

It is a method of applying moxibustion with a certain object between the acupoints and moxa. There are many choices of spacers, such as salt, garlic, ginger, aconite cake and so on. Other materials with thermal conductivity can also be used as spacers. However, it should be noted that when using partition moxibustion, you must understand the properties and therapeutic efficacy of the partition, and do not use the partition indiscriminately to avoid harm to the body.

Suspended moxibustion

Refers to the method of moxibustion at a certain distance from the skin. Compared with direct moxibustion and partitioned moxibustion, it has less irritation to the skin, no pain, no trauma, and is more acceptable to people. However, moxibustion can only be applied to one acupoint at a time, which is time-consuming and labor-intensive. If there is nothing to do at home, you can choose the method of hanging moxibustion for treatment.
