Physical discomfort, maybe a psychological problem?
During the visit to the psychological counseling center, many visitors will talk about the discomfort around them when they narrate.
In psychology, it is called somatization. The so-called somatization is such a phenomenon: patients consciously experience severe somatic symptoms, such as headache, back pain, muscle pain, fatigue, insomnia, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, dyspnea, physical discomfort, decreased work efficiency, etc. However, no obvious pathological changes were found in the corresponding medical examination, or the pathological changes found in the clinical examination were not sufficient to explain the severity of the patient's symptoms of consciousness.
The deep-seated reason for this somatization lies in the long-term repression of psychological problems. We often ignore our emotions or inner conflicts. Over time, in order to [remind] our attention, the body uses physical discomfort to ask us to rest and take care of ourselves.
What are the physical manifestations of daily life?
When people replace language with physical form (disease) or action, the expression of emotion changes from language to physical form. Such forms can be seen everywhere in our daily life.
For example, when people quarrel, if one party feels that their words are not enough to express their anger towards the other party, they will often hurt others with their hands. This is a manifestation of somaticization. This is an external attack, and another is an internal attack.
In fact, many things in life are physical and easy to identify, such as brushing hair, biting nails, biting lips, picking noses, looking at people sideways... These may all be physical reactions.
Others are hidden and hard to detect, such as knee pain. It's generally hard to relate to somatization, but it's likely that he's been through too much pressure to be able to handle it any longer.
One of our idealized states may be that we want to verbalize how we feel, so the less somatic it is, the healthier it may be. But ideal situations don’t necessarily match reality, so our somatization is everywhere in our lives.
So think about how your life will be embodied? If you feel unwell after checking in various hospitals, and the reason is unknown, you may need psychological counseling.
