High risk of fracture surgery? The consequences of not having surgery are often unbearable

Fracture refers to the complete or partial rupture of the continuity of the bone structure. It is different from sprains, which can be repaired by themselves after applying medicine. Most fractures will not grow back on their own, and even applying Chinese herbal medicine is useless. The uncle who recently underwent surgery fell to his right knee due to trauma more than 50 days ago. Afterwards, the pain in the right knee was so severe that the joint even became deformed and could not move. The uncle went to the local hospital for treatment, and the X-ray showed that the upper segment of the right tibia was completely fractured.

The uncle believes that the surgery is traumatic and expensive, and it should be able to grow on its own without surgery. Therefore, after returning home, I started conservative treatment with external application of Chinese herbal medicine. As a result, after more than a month of treatment, the lower limbs are still deformed and cannot walk. Had to come to our hospital. An X-ray was taken, which showed: a closed old fracture of the tibial plateau.

The fracture did not heal at all, there was no other way, and finally surgery was the only option. We performed internal fixation for the fracture of the tibial plateau for my uncle, hoping for a speedy recovery and freedom of movement. In fact, many patients still have prejudice against surgery, believing that surgery will cause large wounds and the risks are too high to be used. But that's not the case.

Now that medical technology is becoming more and more mature, the risk of surgery is actually not that high. Generally, high-risk surgeons will remind patients before surgery. Fracture surgery is not that scary, as long as the patient is properly cared for after surgery, recovery is not a problem.

Nursing care after fracture surgery is more important in terms of dietary arrangements:

  1. Early fracture.

In the early postoperative period, the affected area is still swollen and painful, and the injury will affect the patient's mood to a certain extent. Therefore, in the early stage, the patient is prone to have low appetite, indigestion, etc. Therefore, the early diet is best to light, Easy-to-digest foods are the mainstay, which can not only ensure the intake of nutrients, but also improve the situation of poor appetite. Don't overdo it in the early stage, this will not only fail to achieve the purpose, but may aggravate the patient's gastrointestinal problems.

Second, the mid-term fracture.

The pain, swelling and other symptoms of patients in the middle stage of the fracture have begun to subside significantly. This stage is in the healing period of the affected area, and the patient can be supplemented with high nutrients, such as high-protein foods such as fish, milk, etc., as well as calcium and various vitamins. Foods such as bone broth, soy products, vegetables, etc., are conducive to the recovery of the affected area, but pay attention to extremes, and take appropriate and appropriate amounts.

  1. Post-fracture.

The dietary characteristics in the later stage of the fracture are roughly the same as those in the middle stage of the fracture. The patient only needs to maintain the previous dietary arrangement, and normally consume foods such as protein, calcium, and vitamins. At the same time, the intake of fruits and vegetables can be appropriately increased. At this stage, the affected area has reached the late stage of recovery, and the affected area has generally healed, so the patient's dietary taboos can be lifted, but some spicy and irritating foods are still recommended in moderation.
