forced self-regulation
Don't be perfectionist
People with obsessive-compulsive syndrome tend to have perfectionism. They take things too seriously and strive for perfection. They tend to be very demanding of themselves and feel regret and self-blame for their little things or mistakes. The therapist needs to make them realize that their mentality of demanding perfection everywhere is not correct. There is no perfect person in the world. We can do our best to do what we should, but everyone should admit and accept the mistakes they may make. Therefore, patients are advised to take an optimistic attitude towards work, study and life, not to be too serious about people and things, and not to be too harsh on themselves, so as to improve their ability to adapt to changes.
Divert attention
When obsessive-compulsive symptoms appear, try to divert your attention and get out of the real symptoms as soon as possible to get rid of the pain. For example, check the door lock as soon as you go out. How can we overcome it? Strict schedule. If the commute to work usually takes 30 minutes, and 20 minutes is stressful, then leave 20 minutes to hurry up. Because the time is tight and I am afraid of being late, I am in a hurry when I go out, and I don't have time to think about checking the door lock.
Participate in cultural and sports activities.
Because engaging in various interesting cultural and sports activities can relieve the monotony and boredom in life or work, and reduce mental stress and tension. Adhering to a normal study and life, doing what you should do, and enriching your life will reduce the interference of symptoms and gradually reduce your fear and anxiety.
learn to relax
Ask the patient to learn to breathe and relax. Inhale slowly through your nose, then exhale slowly. When breathing, "count the breaths", that is, silently recite 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 in your mind when you inhale, and silently when you exhale. The purpose of "calculating interest" is to eliminate distracting thoughts, make people calm and relax. Patients can breathe and relax 3 to 5 times before going to bed every night, which helps to relieve the tension and fatigue of the day and is conducive to hypnosis. When a patient has symptoms, such as the feeling that he is about to be cut when he sees a knife, he can take a breath and relax immediately to help him calm down and relieve tension.
Coercive treatment should not take hard-line measures.
If the patient forces himself to lock the door, tell him from the side, don't worry, don't check the door lock. This hard confrontation will make the patient more nervous and increase psychological pressure. Because his symptoms are out of his control, he didn't do it on purpose. Your hard stop will intensify his inner conflict, making him not only suffer from obsessive-compulsive disease, but also suffer from uncontrollable obsessive-compulsive disease, aggravating his obsessive-compulsive disease. In the initial treatment of obsessive patients, let them go with the flow. If you want to check the door lock, check it out. When the patient understands the nature, cause and treatment of his symptoms, he will gradually reduce the obsessive-compulsive symptoms in the course of treatment. One day he will forget that he also needs to check the door lock.
Don't be too strict.
Parents should combine the psychological characteristics of their children, give their children a certain space to develop their personality, and let their children develop a good character foundation in life. Don't be fussy, don't be too perfect, and realize that nothing is perfect. Let children understand that the secret to some people's happiness lies in their resilient state of mind, which enables them to quickly bounce back from disappointment.
