Cancer is closely linked to one type of food! Scientists track surprising discovery of 100,000 people
Whether you are male or female, sports enthusiasts or lazy, young or old, smokers and non-smokers, as long as you like a type of food, cancer is likely to come to your door.
This is not the latest research finding, but it still has a great warning effect for us.
In 2018, after a multi-year study of more than 100,000 adults, researchers in France found that eating processed foods was more associated with cancer than age, sex, body mass index, height, physical activity level, smoking and drinking habits or family history. Risk is more closely related.
Many of these harmful "processed" foods are our beloved snacks, including individually wrapped sweet pastries and muffins, chips, candy, cold drinks, frozen meals, sugary cereals, and just about anything you can imagine. , inexpensive items in stores individually wrapped or in containers.
To discover the link between processed foods and cancer, the researchers combed through vast medical records and surveys of cancer patients. They noted that those who regularly ate highly processed packaged foods were more likely to develop cancer than those who ate fresh food at home or in restaurants, "with a 10% increase in the proportion of highly processed packaged foods in the diet, the risk of 12% increased cancer risk."
On the other hand, the primarily processed foods the French ate, such as some canned foods, cheese and baguettes, were less associated with cancer rates. People who ate fresh, unprocessed foods such as fish, rice and vegetables had the lowest risk of developing cancer.
Why are these individually packaged snacks more likely to cause cancer?
After factoring out factors such as family history, age, gender, prescription birth control (in the case of breast cancer), body mass index and education, the scientists found a worrisome situation. These highly processed foods contain far more sugar, fat and salt than those cooked in your own kitchen or restaurant, and lack important nutrients.
Sugar may be the culprit: High-sugar snacks make up more than a quarter of highly processed packaged foods. Scientists have shown that sugar may promote tumor growth in cancer patients.
The packaging of processed foods should also raise our alarms. Materials in plastic packaging may contain BPA, which disrupts endocrine system function, leading to more birth defects and higher cancer rates.
Packaged foods also add additives such as sodium nitrite, which can preserve meat but has also been shown to cause cancer in animal experiments.
Although there is no complete causal relationship between these factors and cancer, the old saying goes: disease comes in through the mouth, and misfortune comes out through the mouth. If we continue to eat so much sugary priced food, there is a higher risk of developing cancer in our bodies.
In front of the dazzling array of snacks, it may be wise to restrain our greed!
