In China, there are many celebrities who have died of liver cancer, such as the famous Hong Kong host Fat Sister Shen Dianxia, movie star Wu Mengda, rock singer Zang Tianshuo, cross talk actor Shi Shengjie, musician Zhao Yingjun and so on.

And there is such a doctor, he is a gastroenterologist and tumor treatment expert, but also a liver cancer patient . He told everyone through personal experience and clinical practice that cancer is actually a chronic disease, and it is entirely possible for patients to survive with cancer and achieve the goal of long-term survival.

This doctor is Xu Kecheng.

1. Suffered from cancer at the age of 66, and now has no recurrence for 16 years

Xu Kecheng was born in 1940 and graduated from the Medical Department of Nantong Medical College in 1963. In 1970, Xu Kecheng's mother was diagnosed with advanced liver cancer and died 3 months later . Since then, Xu Kecheng began to study liver cancer treatment.

At the age of 66, Xu Kecheng was diagnosed with hepatocholangiocarcinoma in a physical examination, and the 5-year survival rate of this cancer is no more than 3% . After 5 major surgeries, Xu Kecheng decided to give up traditional chemotherapy and began to explore new cancer treatment methods.

After verifying thousands of SCI papers, he decided to take comprehensive rehabilitation measures centered on "enhancing immunity ", no longer pursuing "cancer-free", but achieving long-term survival with cancer on the basis of maintaining the stability of the entire body system the goal of.

Now Xu Kecheng is 82 years old. He has never had a recurrence of liver cancer in the past 16 years. He is still fighting on the front line of fighting cancer . Xu Kecheng summed up his secret of "coexisting with cancer" into 20 words and sent it to all patients who are fighting cancer:

"Have fun, eat a balanced diet, exercise properly, keep working, and make friends."

2. The key to surviving liver cancer lies in early detection

The symptoms of early liver cancer are easy to be ignored. When obvious pain occurs, it is often in the middle and late stages, and the treatment effect is reduced. Early detection is the key to improving the survival rate of patients with liver cancer.

High-risk groups for liver cancer include: People over 40 years old, people with chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, advanced hepatitis B and C infection, and people with a family history of liver cancer. For high-risk groups, in addition to regular check-ups, it is also necessary to pay attention to some skin symptoms, such as:

1. Yellowing of the skin

Bilirubin is a toxic substance produced by aging red blood cells in the body, which needs to be metabolized by the liver, and then enters the digestive tract or blood, and is excreted by feces and urine. When liver function continues to decline, bilirubin is difficult to metabolize, which will lead to hepatocellular jaundice .

In addition, in some patients, the tumor compresses the bile duct, causing obstruction, and the bile cannot be excreted smoothly, which can also cause obstructive jaundice. Typical symptoms of jaundice include yellowing of the skin, strong tea-like urine, grayish-white stools, and itchy skin.

2. Subcutaneous hemorrhage

Subcutaneous hemorrhage may occur in patients with liver cancer. This is because the liver can synthesize a variety of coagulation factors . Once the liver tissue is damaged, the coagulation function will be affected, resulting in large areas of blood stasis and bruising on the skin.

3. Face of liver disease

When suffering from chronic liver disease, especially liver cirrhosis or liver cancer, due to endocrine dysfunction and abnormal metabolism of pigment and hormones, the pigment is deposited on the skin . It becomes dry and rough, lacks elasticity and luster , and even takes on a bronzed complexion, especially the grayness around the eyes.

This is the so-called "liver disease face", and some patients also have tiny telangiectasias on the tip of the nose, face and neck, which are shaped like spiders and are called "spider moles" .

3. These two foods have harmed too many people

The data in 2020 shows that the number of new cases of liver cancer in the world is 906,000, of which nearly half occurred in China, and the absolute number of liver cancer in China ranks first in the world. Epidemiological analysis of liver cancer showed that among the dietary risk factors that lead to the high incidence of liver cancer in China, the effects of alcohol and aflatoxin are particularly prominent.

1. Alcohol

Alcohol is very harmful to the liver. It only takes four steps from excessive drinking to the occurrence of liver cancer.

The first step is that alcohol will prevent the liver from decomposing fatty acids, which will induce alcoholic fatty liver over time ;

In the second step, the development of alcoholic fatty liver to a certain extent will not only affect the normal metabolic function, but also produce a large number of pro-inflammatory cytokines, causing alcoholic hepatitis ;

In the third step, the further deterioration of alcoholic hepatitis can lead to necrosis or fibrosis of some liver cells, resulting in alcoholic liver cirrhosis ;

The fourth step, after the aggravation of alcoholic liver cirrhosis, the liver has been overwhelmed, the metabolic capacity is seriously reduced, and liver cancer is gradually formed .

Therefore, we should drink less, it is best to stop drinking.

The "Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents" recommends that the daily intake of alcohol should not exceed 25 grams for adult men and 15 grams for adult women. Converted to beer and liquor, it is equivalent to no more than 1 bottle of beer or 1 tael of liquor per day for men; no more than 1 can of beer or half tael of liquor per day for women.

2. Foods containing aflatoxin

As early as 1993, aflatoxin was classified as a class I carcinogen by the World Health Organization, which has a clear carcinogenic effect on humans, especially liver cancer.

Aflatoxins are widely distributed in nature and like to hide in moldy foods , especially peanuts, corn and beans that are high in starch and oil. After aflatoxin enters the human body, it cannot be decomposed and will be deposited in liver cells, which will cause liver damage in the long run, thereby increasing the risk of liver cancer.

In recent days, try to eat fresh food as much as possible. Food such as rice, flour, grain, oil and nuts should be stored in a cool, dry and ventilated place, and should not be stored for too long . Once the food is found to be moldy, it must be thrown away in time, and do not continue to eat.

At present, people still have many misunderstandings about liver cancer. As an important organ of the human body, the liver can develop a variety of cancers, and its pathogenesis has not yet been clarified. To stay away from liver cancer, it is necessary to develop good living habits, especially for high-risk groups, and to actively and scientifically prevent it.
