Postmenopausal bleeding? Remind middle-aged and elderly women: this may be a signal that cancer is coming, don't take it seriously
As we all know, people will usher in two developmental peaks in their life, the first is the early childhood stage, and the second is adolescence.
After a woman enters puberty, her height will not only increase rapidly, but secondary sexual characteristics will also begin to develop, such as breasts gradually bulging and hair growing in the private parts . In addition, women in this age group will also usher in their first menarche.
The reason for menstruation is that the ovaries have initially possessed the functions of endocrine and ovulation . Under the action of endocrine, the endometrium will begin to thicken periodically. If the egg does not combine with sperm after ovulation, the thickened endometrium will fall off as the hormone levels drop, and they will be mixed with blood and excreted to form a menstruation.
Under normal circumstances, a woman's menstrual cycle is 21-35 days, with an average of about 28 days. After a woman's first menstrual period, as the ovaries continue to develop and mature, women will form their own unique menstrual cycle.
Next, menstruation stops briefly only during pregnancy. After that, menstrual cramps can last until around age 45-55, and then disappear completely. This stage is known to women as menopause.
The so-called menopause refers not to menopause, but to the stage in which women's gonad function declines to complete loss . It includes three stages: premenopause, menopause, and later stages.
Under normal circumstances , Chinese women have basically gone through menopause before the age of 50 . However, menopause is not sudden. Initially, it is mostly manifested as prolonged menstrual cycle intervals and decreased menstrual blood volume. Some women also show increased menstrual volume, and then menstruation will gradually stop.
If you have entered this age group, and the interval between the last menstrual period is more than 1 year, and you still have not waited for the next menstrual period, it means that you have completely menopause.
Clinically in China, some women who have been menopausal for more than one year or even longer have a small amount of blood suddenly discharged from their private parts. Many people mistakenly believe that this is a sign of rejuvenation and reverse flowering. But in fact, from a clinical point of view, this is actually a very dangerous signal, and its appearance is even related to cancer, such as endometrial cancer, cervical cancer, etc.!
1. Endometrial cancer
As the name suggests, this is a cancerous change in the female endometrial epithelial tissue. According to the current clinical data, irregular bleeding is its most typical symptom, which is mostly manifested as small or moderate bleeding.
If the patient has been completely menopausal, it is manifested as continuous and intermittent vaginal bleeding, and a small number of patients will have a small amount of postmenopausal bloody vaginal discharge . In patients with advanced stage, rotten flesh-like tissue may also be mixed in the blood while bleeding;
2. Cervical cancer
One of the first symptoms of cervical cancer is vaginal bleeding in stage 1, 2, and subsequent stages. It is divided into two cases. The first is that the cancer tissue itself ischemia and oxygen erosion and necrosis, and the cancer cells invade the blood vessels in the interstitium, thereby causing irregular bleeding . The second is contact bleeding after sex, after vigorous defecation, and after bimanual examination .
Under normal circumstances, exogenous cervical cancer bleeds earlier and bleeds more . After entering the advanced stage, when the lesion is larger, it will also show a lot of bleeding, even fatal bleeding.
All in all, if the menopause has been over for more than one year, but the private parts are repeatedly discharged with blood, or there is brown secretions, and the leucorrhea is mixed with blood threads, this is likely to be a signal that cancer has found itself.
Especially for vaginal bleeding accompanied by abdominal pain, weight loss, anemia, etc., patients should be vigilant and seek medical attention in time for relevant examinations.
