Do you know how many hyperuricemia patients there are in China? Nearly 177 million people ! Nearly 60% of them are young people aged 18-35 !

  The vast majority of hyperuricemia is actually in the asymptomatic period, that is, the patient's body does not have any abnormality. Knowing that he is sick is entirely due to a medical examination.

  It is because of the large number of patients with hyperuricemia that most of the patients have not undergone scientific treatment and adjustment, so that the incidence of gout in China is increasing year by year!

  Relevant research surveys show that the incidence of gout in China is rapidly increasing at an annual rate of 9.7% , and the total number of gout patients has exceeded 80 million .

  The reason why gout and hyperuricemia are related is because hyperuricemia is the basis for the pathogenesis of gout. Only when the blood uric acid level in the body exceeds the standard and uric acid crystals are precipitated, the crystals will appear in the patient's joints. Gradually accumulate, and eventually cause an attack of acute inflammation of the joints .

  From a clinical point of view, the treatment of gout is mainly divided into two parts. The first is that patients actively use medication to control inflammation and pain, relieve gout symptoms, and reduce uric acid levels. The second is to further control the increase in blood uric acid levels through dietary adjustments . From a clinical point of view, gout patients should choose the following types of diets:

  1. Soy products

  Many people think that excessive uric acid in soy products can cause gout attacks. But in fact, a large number of studies have shown that although soy protein increases blood uric acid levels, the clinical impact of increased blood uric acid levels is negligible compared to the intake of Asians .

  The latest domestic research has found that when hyperuricemia patients were given a soy-based high-protein diet for 3 months, the blood uric acid level was significantly reduced, which was mainly related to the protein, soy isoflavones and polyunsaturated fatty acids contained in soy products . Therefore, gout patients can eat some soy products appropriately;

2. Milk

  A research survey shows that whether long-term or short-term intake of dairy products will reduce blood uric acid levels, especially skim milk and low-calorie yogurt.

Moreover, the glycomacropeptide, G600 and other substances  contained in milk have certain anti-inflammatory effects , which can alleviate the acute attack of gout by reducing the inflammatory reaction of monosodium urate deposition in the joints ;

  3. Vegetables and fruits

  A dietary survey in China and South Korea found that eating vegetables and fruits rich in purines did not actually increase blood uric acid levels. Conversely , a vegetable-based diet was effective in lowering blood uric acid levels, and the same effect was observed even with spinach.

  Therefore, everyone should increase the proportion of vegetables and fruits in their daily meals, and should consume at least 4 different types of green vegetables every day;

  4. Drink plenty of water

  Uric acid is actually the end-stage product of purine metabolism. Under normal circumstances, the newly generated and metabolized uric acid in the human body shows a dynamic equilibrium relationship, and the organ that metabolizes uric acid is actually the kidneys. The kidneys remove uric acid from the body by producing urine .

  Therefore, after being diagnosed with hyperuricemia or gout, patients should pay attention to water supplementation , choose foods with higher water content, and maintain a daily water intake of at least 1500-2000ml.

  Finally, it should be emphasized that patients with gout should not only pay attention to diet, but also control their calorie intake throughout the day, especially patients who are overweight and need to actively lose weight.

  Because a large number of research surveys have pointed out that obesity is an independent risk factor for hyperuricemia and gout, scientific weight loss and active exercise are also one of the ways to prevent gout.
