Cancer cells love meat? 6 major cancers or 'eat' out, eat less meat in these 3 parts

"Now there are so many cancers, they are all eaten!"

"It's not because of eating too much meat. There are so many people in the country who love meat. Pork, mutton, beef..."

Pork, beef and mutton become carcinogens? Is meat still edible? What the hell is going on here?

1. Cancer cells love meat? Pork and lamb are not spared?

At the "Minister's Channel" of the Two Sessions in 2022, Tang Renjian, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, introduced the meat consumption data of Chinese people. China's population of more than 1.4 billion consumes about 230,000 tons of meat every year . The average meat intake per person is about 164 grams, but the "Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents 2021" recommends 40-75 grams of meat per person per day.

A recent study suggests that eating meat more than 5 times a week may be associated with a higher risk of cancer . The study was an analysis of data from the UK Biobank by researchers at the University of Oxford.

The data included 472,377 participants between the ages of 40 and 70, and divided the participants into regular meat eaters (more than five times a week), light meat eaters (weekly meat) according to the frequency and type of meat they ate. five times or less), fish vegetarians (eat fish but no meat), four groups of vegetarians (vegetarian or vegan).

After the researchers followed up for 11.4 years, 54,961 participants developed cancer. When other factors were excluded, the risk of cancer was 2% lower in the meat-eating group, 10% lower in the fish-vegetarian group, and 14% lower in the vegetarian group, compared with the regular meat-eating group.

Among other things, the study found that people who ate low amounts of meat had a lower risk of colorectal cancer, vegetarian women had a lower risk of postmenopausal breast cancer, and men who were vegetarian or fish vegetarian had a lower risk of prostate cancer.

Earlier, studies have also found that excessive consumption of red meat, that is, beef, pork, lamb, etc., can increase the risk of colorectal cancer.

Second, is meat still edible? Nutrition professor gives 4 golden rules

Professor Yu Kang, Department of Clinical Nutrition, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, said that although the Oxford University study is an observational study, the causal relationship needs further research. However, this also reminds us that eating meat needs to pay attention to the frequency and amount of consumption.

Regarding the 2A carcinogen red meat, Dr. Yu Kang said that there is no need to panic too much. The key is to control the amount of food and choose healthy cooking methods. Red meat contains beneficial nutrients when eaten in moderation. In this regard, the professor suggested that eating meat requires mastering 4 golden rules.

The first is to control food intake. According to the recommendation of the Chinese Residents' Dietary Guidelines, adults can eat 40-75 grams of raw meat and poultry meat, 40-75 grams of aquatic products, and 40-50 grams of eggs every day.

The second best is to eat white meat, paired with red meat. White meat is relatively lower in fat than red meat, but the protein benefits are the same.

The third is cooking is better, because the methionine in meat, cooked under high temperature conditions such as barbecue, may be converted into homocysteine, which increases the risk of cardiovascular disease. In addition, proteins may be denatured to form heterocyclic ammonia carcinogens at temperatures above 200°C.

The fourth is to reduce the intake of processed meat products. Processed meat products may produce carcinogenic substances such as benzopyrene and nitrite during the production process, so it is not advisable to eat more.

Although eating meat in moderation is beneficial, it is better to eat less of some meat.

1. Unreticulated Pork Neck

The neck of the pig is where the lymph nodes are relatively concentrated, and the lymph nodes are mainly responsible for filtering pathogens in animals and rejecting the pathogenic microorganisms carried by the lymph from entering the blood circulation.

If you eat pork neck meat with diseased lymph nodes that has not been cleaned, it will pose a certain health threat to the human body.

And pork neck meat has a thyroid that can synthesize thyroid hormones. Once the human body ingests too much thyroid hormones, it may increase the risk of poisoning.

2. Untreated dick ass

There is an immune organ in the chicken butt, the sac on the cavity, and tens of thousands of lymphocytes are concentrated on the wall of the sac. During the immunization process, some harmful substances will accumulate, and even under high temperature conditions, it is difficult to completely eliminate them.

Potential health risks if you eat raw chicken butts.

3. Eat less shrimp head and yellow shrimp

Heavy metals in water enter the body through respiration or ingestion of shrimp gills, and will accumulate in digestive organs such as the liver. The shrimp head is a place where microorganisms live, and there are tissues such as liver and shrimp gills.

The shrimp yellow is the liver and pancreas of crayfish, and the gallbladder is used as a detoxification organ, which may carry parasites or accumulate heavy metals.

Although the heavy metals and pesticide residues in crayfish meet the corresponding food safety standards, it is still recommended not to eat shrimp heads and shrimp yellows.

4. These 6 major cancers can indeed be "eaten"

As the saying goes, disease enters from the mouth, and many diseases are often caused by improper diet.

1. Gastric cancer

Sun Hao, director of the Gastrointestinal Cancer Center of Chongqing Cancer Hospital, said that frequent consumption of barbecued and fried foods can easily induce gastric cancer . Barbecue foods contain carcinogens such as 3-4 benzopyrene and cyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. In addition, long-term high-salt diet is also associated with the occurrence of gastric cancer.

2. Bowel cancer

People who consume less dietary fiber foods such as beans, vegetables, and fruits, or eat too much animal fat, meat and egg cholesterol, and people who drink heavily for a long time are likely to increase the risk of colorectal cancer.

3. Liver cancer

Alcohol is one of the "culprits" of liver cancer. Deng Hejun, chief physician of the Department of Hepatobiliary Oncology, Chongqing Cancer Hospital, explained that most of the alcohol is metabolized by the liver. If you drink a lot for a long time, it is easy to accumulate a large amount of acetaldehyde in the human body, which will harm many tissues and organs. In addition, moldy foods contain a class 1 carcinogen aflatoxin, which also increases the risk of liver cancer.

4. Throat cancer

He Yun, deputy chief physician of the Head and Neck Cancer Center of the Cancer Hospital Affiliated to Chongqing Medical University, said that smoking and drinking can increase the risk of laryngeal cancer by 10 to 20 times. The cigarette tar produced when tobacco is burned contains the carcinogen phenylpyrene. Moreover, excessive alcohol can easily damage the mucosal epithelium of the throat, affecting the synthesis of immune proteins, resulting in malnutrition and immunosuppression, increasing the possibility of cancer.

5. Esophageal cancer

IARC, the International Agency for Research on Cancer, a subsidiary of the World Health Organization, recommends not to drink hot drinks over 65°C, otherwise it will increase the risk of esophageal cancer. In addition, eating hot food, often eating pickled vegetables and moldy food will also increase the risk of esophageal cancer

6. Pancreatic cancer

The mortality rate and 5-year survival rate of pancreatic cancer are extremely low. It is a veritable "king of cancer", and the causes of pancreatic cancer are mainly related to smoking, drinking, and high-protein diet.

If you want to reduce the risk of cancer, you still have to learn to eat meat and eat scientifically.
