"When I was young, life was hard, and I couldn't even eat, let alone meat. Why is life better now, and a lot of diseases have come?"

Aunt Zhang felt very strange. In the past, her living conditions were difficult, and it was good to be able to eat enough. She worked hard to raise two children, and she has never been sick, and she is in good health. But after the age of 50, the child starts a family and starts a business. Logically speaking, life has improved, but he has high blood pressure, high blood lipids, and often has back pain. Why do you have to suffer from these diseases when you are old?

1. When people get old, all kinds of diseases come?

With the advent of an aging society, China has entered the era of the elderly. Talking about the relationship between aging and disease, Academician Han Qide said that they are like two cars on tracks, and they can merge and cross tracks at any time. On the one hand, aging can form and accelerate certain diseases, on the other hand, diseases can also contribute to the process and degree of aging.

In terms of data, according to the latest cancer report, there were about 4.064 million new cancer cases and 2.4135 million cancer deaths in China in 2016. The incidence and mortality of cancer will increase with age, and the highest incidence is 50-54. 60-64 and 60-64 and 75-79 also had the most cancer deaths.

On the other hand, the overall disease spectrum of middle-aged and elderly people is also changing. The prevalence of chronic non-communicable diseases is on the rise, and more elderly people are suffering from diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. .

This makes people think: how do middle-aged and elderly people spend their healthy old age?

2. Don't be too diligent about these 3 things, they are not good for your health

Middle-aged and elderly people pursue health, health preservation, etc., sometimes with good intentions, but the results are not satisfactory. As the saying goes, it's too much to go too far, just like the following things.

1. Supplementary nutrition is too diligent

Many elderly people like to eat health products to supplement nutrition and even cure diseases. I feel that the more you eat, the healthier you are, the more variety, and the more comprehensive your nutrition is.

Actually, this is not good.

Excessive supplementation of nutrients will lead to an imbalance in the ratio, exceeding the maximum tolerance value of the human body for nutrients. At the same time, after taking health products, it is easy to ignore the rationality of the diet, resulting in unbalanced nutritional intake, which is not conducive to health, and excessive consumption of health products may lead to liver damage.

In addition, health products are not medicines. They can only prevent and regulate sub-health state, and cannot directly treat diseases. If they are taken blindly, they will not only affect the treatment effect, but may even aggravate the disease.

2. Exercising too hard

The physiological function of the elderly gradually declines, and the ability to adapt to physical load is poor. Excessive exercise can easily lead to muscle strains, joint sprains or falls. Reasonable exercise has many benefits, but excessive exercise is harmful.

Some sports may not be suitable for all the elderly, such as: dancing for a long time, shaking the shoulders hard, bending over to reach the feet, and circles around the head.

When the elderly choose to exercise, they prefer soothing exercises , such as Wu Qin Xi, Baduan Jin, Tai Chi, and meditation. In addition, periodic exercise such as walking, jogging, alternating walking and running, cycling at moderate and slow speeds, and slow swimming are all suitable for the elderly.

In short: the intensity of exercise for the elderly should be within their capabilities, the exercise should be moderate, and the amount should be increased gradually .

3. Cleaning is too diligent

The metabolism of the elderly will slow down, hormone levels will also change, and there is less activity and less sweating on weekdays, so the skin condition of the elderly is often relatively dry and rarely oily.

Frequent bathing or rubbing may damage the skin's natural barrier and cause the skin to lose part of its resistance. Once in a humid environment, contact with allergens and other factors, it may cause senile atopic dermatitis. Also known as senile eczema.

What should the elderly pay attention to when taking a bath?

Zhu Xuejun, chief physician of the Department of Dermatology and Venereology, Peking University First Hospital suggested that the bathing time should be 10-15 minutes in the shower and about 10 minutes in the tub. The water temperature should not be too high, slightly lower than body temperature in summer and slightly higher than body temperature in winter. When taking a bath, use a soft cotton towel and choose a body wash or soap with a pH value of <7.

3. For the elderly, what is health?

Many elderly people use the indicators on the physical examination to judge whether they are healthy or not. Ning Xiaohong, Department of Geriatrics of Peking Union Medical College Hospital , pointed out that this should be understood.

The health of the elderly mainly depends on two indicators : good function and quality of life . Good physical and psychological functions, able to take care of themselves in life, and able to accept the aging process calmly, represent relatively healthy life; while the quality of life is relatively subjective, the higher the satisfaction with the quality of life, the healthier the body.

The National Health and Health Commission shared 20 items on the health of the elderly, suggesting that the elderly should pay attention to health problems so that they can better enjoy a happy old age.
