Presumably everyone should have heard of "hypertension" disease, which refers to the patient's arterial blood pressure exceeding the normal range standard.

  It seems that it is only a problem of elevated blood pressure, but behind it there are many complications hidden. Long-term excessive blood pressure can cause damage to multiple organs and tissues such as the heart, brain, blood circulation system, and kidneys. It is known as cardiovascular disease risk factors.

  It is precisely because high blood pressure is very scary that everyone focuses on raising blood pressure, thinking that the lower the blood pressure, the healthier it is.

  As everyone knows, there is precisely one kind of blood pressure change called " hypotension " in clinical practice, which refers to the state where the systemic arterial pressure is lower than normal.

  Due to the great harm of high blood pressure, the World Health Organization also clearly stipulates the diagnostic criteria for high blood pressure, that is, the systolic blood pressure of the patient's arteries exceeds 140mmhg and the diastolic blood pressure exceeds 90mmhg . However, there is still no uniform standard for the diagnosis of hypotension worldwide.

  According to the current clinical information, a healthy adult's normal blood pressure should be below 120mmhg for systolic blood pressure and below 80mmhg for diastolic blood pressure . The normal high value fluctuation range of blood pressure is 120/139~80/89mmhg . If the adult upper extremity arterial blood pressure is lower than 90/60mmhg , it can be counted as hypotension.

  According to the etiology of hypotension, it can be divided into two types:

  1. Physiological

  The so-called physiological hypotension refers to some healthy people whose blood pressure has reached the standard of hypotension when they go to the doctor for examination, but the patients do not have any conscious symptoms.

  After a long-term follow-up investigation, it was found that apart from low blood pressure, he had no symptoms of hypoxemia in various organs of the body, nor did it affect his life span. This situation generally occurs in the elderly and women who are physically thin . It can be said to be physiological hypotension or essential hypotension;

2. Pathological

  Pathological hypotension is not difficult to understand. It refers to the fact that in addition to lower blood pressure, the body is also accompanied by different symptoms and certain diseases.

  The important thing to mention here is that hypotension caused by some diseases, such as acute myocardial infarction, hemorrhage, severe trauma to the body, infectious diseases or allergies, etc. , will lead to a rapid drop in blood pressure.

  However, in most cases, hypotension occurs slowly and can gradually worsen as the disease progresses, such as hypotension secondary to severe tuberculosis, cancer, malnutrition, and cachexia . This kind of hypotension can be regarded as pathological hypotension or secondary hypotension.

  The clinical manifestations of hypotension are various. The most common symptoms are that patients are prone to mental fatigue, frequent dizziness and headache. When blood pressure drops rapidly, dizziness, weakness of limbs, cold sweat, and even sudden syncope may also occur. and other symptoms. The severity of the symptoms is mainly related to the patient's pathogenic factors, age, constitution and other aspects.

  If you measure your blood pressure at home and find that your blood pressure is too low, you already meet the diagnostic criteria for hypotension. In this case, you should see a doctor in time for relevant examinations to see if it is related to the appearance of the disease and causing low blood pressure.

  Especially for patients with known comorbidities, they should communicate with their doctors in time to see if treatment for hypotension is needed. After excluding disease factors, patients can make relevant adjustments according to the doctor's advice, so that blood pressure can gradually return to normal.
