'New blood sugar standard' has been announced, no longer 3.9~6.1, it is recommended to check by yourself
According to relevant data surveys, in recent years, the number of people suffering from hyperglycemia in China has been increasing, and even gradually becoming younger. High blood sugar is not scary, what is scary is the complications caused by high blood sugar, such as diabetes.
Therefore, when you find that your blood sugar is too high, you must actively cooperate with the doctor for treatment. In addition, you should also pay attention to keeping away from high-sugar, high-fat, high-calorie and spicy food in your diet. Develop regular work and rest habits, regular physical examinations, etc., which can help us better control the stability of blood sugar.
What harm does high blood sugar cause to the body?
Long-term high blood sugar, if not controlled by diet and drugs in time, it is likely to form chronic high blood sugar, which will affect the heart, brain, blood vessels and other organs.
Long-term high blood sugar may also lead to faster metabolism in the body, resulting in an increase in food intake and obesity in patients.
Impaired renal function, high blood sugar or large blood sugar fluctuations can lead to the occurrence of diabetic kidneys, which will eventually develop into renal failure, and in severe cases, uremia will occur.
Vision loss, when the blood sugar is at a relatively high value for a long time, the retina of the person will also be damaged, and finally cause everyone's vision loss, serious or even blindness.
The "new blood sugar standard" has been announced, no longer 3.9~6.1, it is recommended to check it yourself
According to the latest blood glucose standard value published in 2022, the fasting blood glucose level should be between 3.9 and 6.1 mmol/L. Outside this range, if it is higher than this value, it can be judged as hyperglycemia, and if it is lower than this value, it is considered as hypoglycemia. The value should not be higher than 7.8 mmol/L two hours after eating.
The blood sugar level of different age groups is very different, so we cannot make generalizations when measuring blood sugar, otherwise it will easily lead to unstable blood sugar, complications, and even bring great trouble to the body.
1. Teenagers (12~20 years old)
The normal fasting blood glucose value should be kept between 4.4-6.1 mmol/L, and the postprandial blood glucose value should not be higher than 8.0 mmol/L.
Adolescents are in the growing period, their body metabolism is strong, and the demand and consumption of blood sugar are relatively large, so the standard of normal blood sugar is relatively strict.
If the blood sugar level of teenagers is lower than 4.4mmol/L for many times, or higher than 8.0mmol/L after meals, parents need to pay attention and go to the hospital to find a professional doctor for consultation. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen the control of children's diet, especially for children who prefer sweets and obese, strictly control the intake of sweets and carbohydrates, and let children strengthen exercise to avoid excessive or low blood sugar affecting children's growth and development.
2. Middle age (30-50 years old)
At this time, middle-aged people are in a state of balancing family and work. Constantly socializing at work for a better life, these people pay little attention to their diet, which is more likely to cause blood sugar spikes in the long run.
Fasting blood sugar between 3.9-6.0mmol/L is normal. When fasting blood sugar is between 6.0-7.0mmol/L, it is high fasting blood sugar. When fasting blood sugar is greater than 7.0mmol/L, diabetes may exist.
Two hours postprandial blood glucose lower than 7.8mmol/L is normal, and two hours postprandial blood glucose is between 7.8-11.1mmol/L, which is abnormal glucose tolerance. If the blood sugar is greater than 11.1 two hours after a meal, diabetes may be present and needs to be reviewed at a different time. If it is a diabetic patient, fasting blood sugar is less than 7.0mmol/L, and non-fasting blood sugar is less than 10.0mmol/L.
Middle-aged people generally have high blood sugar. It is necessary to change their usual bad living habits and eating habits. Once high blood sugar occurs, please seek medical attention immediately, otherwise it is likely to cause blood sugar to spike.
3. Senior stage (people over 50 years old)
The normal range of blood sugar in the elderly is not significantly different from that of normal people. For all people's blood sugar, the fasting requirement is 3.9-6.1mmol/L, that is, stop eating for more than 8 hours, generally 8-12 hours, and the longest is 14 hours.
Postprandial blood sugar refers to the blood sugar after eating the first bite of rice until 2 hours later. The normal value is 3.9-7.8mmol/L. However, for the elderly blood sugar control range, it can be appropriately changed.
Especially for elderly patients aged 80-85, blood sugar can be appropriately relaxed. For example, fasting blood sugar is controlled below 7mmol/L, and postprandial blood sugar below 10mmol/L is acceptable. The specific blood sugar range needs to be determined according to the patient's condition. Not all patients can relax the target, which is not conducive to blood sugar management and control.
