With the accelerated pace of life, people are under more and more pressure. They have to work hard and take care of their families. When they come home after a hard day, they will inevitably be physically and mentally exhausted. At this time, people usually take a bath to relieve fatigue.

Nowadays, the emergence of water heaters has greatly facilitated people's lives. If you want to take a bath, you can do it anytime, but you know what? There are many things to pay attention to when taking a bath, especially in the grasp of time, and more attention should be paid.

Regarding bathing, there is also such a saying, "bathing in the morning kills yang, and bathing in the evening creates dampness" , what does this mean? When is the right time to take a shower?

First of all, let’s understand what is “Yang Qi”?

Yang qi is like a small sun in the body, providing energy for the normal operation of various organs of the body.

Yang qi is opposite to yin qi, yang qi is a kind of qi with higher energy, and yin qi is a kind of qi with lower energy.

The Nei Jing says: yang transforms qi into yin, and yang transforms into qi, which we cannot see with the naked eye, while yin takes shape which is visible to the naked eye.

Take water as an example. When the water is heated to 100 degrees, it will slowly rise as steam, and when it drops to 0 degrees, it will become solid ice. So, what is yang? Yang is the energy produced by heat. It expands and rises upward, so it is yang.

Next, let's understand what is "moisture"?

What we usually call moisture refers to the excess substances that appear abnormally in the body's water metabolism.

Dampness in TCM:

Chinese medicine believes that there are six factors in nature: wind, cold, heat, dampness, dryness, and fire. At the same time, there are six exogenous pathogens corresponding to it, among which the dampness corresponds to "dampness".

The other is due to the endogenous five evils, mainly due to the lack of lung, spleen, kidney, and qi, resulting in abnormal transport and transformation functions, resulting in the retention of water and dampness, resulting in moisture.

As the saying goes: "Take a shower in the morning to kill yang, and take a shower at night to generate moisture", when is the best time to take a bath?

Whether it is better to take a shower in the morning or at night, there is no scientific conclusion between Western medicine and Chinese medicine. From the perspective of TCM, there are two viewpoints:

First, the yang qi is abundant in the morning and the yin qi is abundant in the evening, so when the yang qi is born in the morning, you should wear your hair, walk slowly, and gradually accumulate the yang qi. Don't take cold showers. If you take a cold shower, it will hurt the yang.

Second, at night, the yang energy is in the internal organs, and the body surface lacks protection. At this time, bathing will allow water to enter the body, causing body wetness.

Therefore, there is no fixed bath time. Each person's bath time can be determined according to their own living habits. During high exercise intensity during the day, people who sweat a lot, or people who need to relax before going to bed, should wash thoroughly before going to bed before going to sleep.

But don't choose to shower too late, too late may interfere with sleep. People who sweat more at night, after getting up in the morning.
